Sentinel risk model
The published exposure model behind the forensics score — how labelled flows become per-category exposure, a 0–100 score, a band and a confidence figure.
Why the model is published
Athena’s trading signals keep their weights private. The forensics score is different: a risk score nobody can audit is just an opinion with a number on it. The current model, risk_model_v1, is served verbatim at https://api.0xathena.ai/sentinel/model and every synopsis names the version it used.
The model turns labelled flows into a 0–100 number. It inherits every gap in the labels and the history it was computed on. Read it with the evidence rows and the coverage block, never alone.
Exposure per category
For each tainted category, exposure is the USD-proportional share of the wallet’s flow that is attributable to addresses labelled in that category, weighted by the label’s confidence. Direct counterparties count in full; flows that reach the wallet through intermediate hops are discounted per hop. Exchanges and deposit addresses terminate taint: funds that passed through an exchange are not traced further.
From exposures to a score
Each category carries a published weight (sanctions and sanctioned exchanges the highest, instant exchangers and gambling the lowest). The categories are combined so that several weak exposures compound rather than average out, inbound exposure counts more than outbound, and an address that is itself sanctioned or frozen pins to the maximum. Bands (clear, low, elevated, high, severe) are fixed cut points on the score and are published with the weights.
Confidence
A separate 0–1 figure blends three things: whether the chain’s history was available, whether the free data source truncated it, and how fresh the label set is. Low confidence means “we saw little”, not “the wallet is clean”.
Evidence paths
In the fund-flow graph, taint is propagated along the money (haircut: proportional to USD). The paths shown as evidence are time-ordered (a wallet can only forward funds it had already received) and ranked by the smallest transfer along the path, so a path’s “bottleneck” is the most it could have carried.
Versioning
Changes to weights, decay, bands or the confidence blend ship as a new version name. Synopses always state the version they were scored with, so two scores are only comparable if their versions match.
